Taxonomic Name: Soleirolia soleiroliiNettle Family
Small Herbaceous Plant Most often used in dish gardens and terraria, this cute plant features tiny green leaves and ground-hugging stems. When planted in between upright terrarium plants, it can produce a delightful mounded or undulating ground-cover effect. |
How to Care for Your Plant:
LIGHT: Direct sunlight or bright indirect sunlight is preferred.
WATERING: Water thoroughly as soon as the soil surface dries out. If your baby's tears plant is in a pot rather than a terrarium, at least a little water should come out of the pot's bottom drainage holes. However, the plant should not stand in saucer water for more than thirty minutes.
FEEDING: Use a balanced all purpose houseplant fertilizer. Follow the product directions.
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS: Overwatering may promote root rot. Also, low humidity may cause leaf tips to brown.
