Landscape benefits and culture: Dark green heart shaped foliage with small yellow-white blooms in the summer. Bees and other pollinators love the sweet smelling flowers. Prefers full sun and is adaptable to many different types of soil. Many species in this genus do not tolerate air pollution, but the little-leaf linden (Tilia cordata) is tolerant of urban conditions and is a great street tree.
Pruning: In fall (after leaf drop) or early spring
Potential pests/issues: Japanese beetles love to feed on the leaves.
