Forsythia 'Showoff' |
Forsythia suspensa
A noticeable improvement over older forsythia varieties with huge yellow flowers blooming reliably from the tips of the branches all the way to the ground! Show Off is indeed that, flaunting large, densely set, brilliant yellow flowers all along the bare branches in April. You can even use them as cut flowers! Dark green, trouble-free leaves may turn burgundy to yellow in fall. The long stems are great for forcing. Dense, compact and upright in form, making this a great choice for mixed borders and no work, natural hedging. It's easy to care for and deer stay away. |

Growth rate: Rapid Fertilization: Spring or fall- Dr. Earth Bud & Bloom Booster Landscape benefits and culture: While this plant is all about the flashy, early spring flowers it does have clean foliage and is really minimal maintenance.
Pruning: Should be accomplished as soon as possible after flowering (preferably within 3-4 weeks after flowering has finished). Pruning later than that reduces or eliminates flowering potential for the following year.
