Landscape benefits and culture: Best flower/fruit production in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade, and moist/ wet soils, including those that have periodic seasonal flooding. Black fruit are edible to humans and birds, but quite sour. A good choice for staggered masses or intermediate height screening in naturalistic landscapes.
Pruning: Minimal Potential pests/issues: Leaf spots, powdery mildew possible in dense shade.
