- The germination time for grass seed ranges from 2 – 4 weeks.
- Shallow water new grass seed two to three times a day. Water for about 5 to10 minutes: early in the morning and again at mid-day. Do not water at night.
- Twice daily watering is essential until the new grass is up. Once your grass is showing, water twice daily for two more weeks then reduce to once per day.
- You should mow your lawn when the grass blades reach a height of 3” – 3.5”.
- Regular cutting helps the new grass blades thicken and your lawn to fill in.
- Foot traffic should be restricted on your new lawn for at least a month so new seedlings are not damaged.
- After about six weeks, apply an organic slow release fertilizer.
