PINK HYBRID TEA (HT) & GRANDIFLORA (GR)

Hybrid Tea (HT) is the traditional, long-stemmed cutting rose to display in a vase or floral

 arrangement. The flowers are large, usually produced one per stem. Grandiflora (GR) is similar                                                         to a hybrid tea, but the flowers are produced in clusters on multi-branched stems. The plant tends     to be tall (4-5’) and lends itself to background use.

 DR=  Better than average disease resistance.

 SH=  Low petal count, more shade tolerant

1. CHICAGO PEACE As lovely as its parent ‘Peace’, the 5” blooms are more phlox-pink and creamy yellow with the faintest hint of orange. Fragrance is pleasantly fruity. Very double with a high petal count. Foliage is glossy. Makes a lovely cut flower                                                       
2. MOONSTONE Pointed, ovoid buds open to a unique soft cream with the finest edge of             deeper pink, up to 5” in diameter. Mild “nutty” fragrance. Good disease resistance. Strong repeat bloom throughout the season.
3. NEW ZEALAND High-centered pale shell pink flowers that can reach 6” in diameter.     Intense honeysuckle fragrance. Deep green, glossy leaves do indeed equal good disease resistance. The fully double flowers are largest in the cool weather of spring and fall. Upright, relatively narrow plant. FR   
4. PERFUME DELIGHT Deep rose pink flowers carry a strong damask rose fragrance. The plant is vigorous and tall. FR  
5. PINK PEACE Deep dusky pink blooms on strong stems with strong damask fragrance. FR
6. QUEEN ELIZABETH Lovely incandescent pink flowers are borne singly or in clusters on a sturdy, full bush with dark green glossy foliage. Mild tea rose fragrance. DR

1. TIFFANY  HT. A time-honored classic tea of medium pink with a hint of yellow in the center, 4” diameter. Lovely fruity fragrance. Strong repeat bloom, good for cutting. Plant is tall and vigorous. FR

WHITE HYBRID TEA (HT)

8. JOHN F KENNEDY This classic rose has stood the test of time. Pure white flowers with      40-45 petals emerge from pointed, greenish white buds. Blooms well, even in hot temperatures.
9. POPE JOHN PAUL II Pure white blossoms with over 45 petals blossoms emit a     delightful fresh citrus fragrance. Glossy, disease resistant foliage. One of the best white teas ever! DR, FR
10. SUGAR MOON Pure white flowers on lengthy stems exude a powerful citrus and rose aroma. Good rebloom and natural vigor. A truly elegant rose. FR

RED HYBRID TEA (HT) & GRANDIFLORA (GR)

11. CHRYSLER IMPERIAL Wonderful long-stemmed flowers (great for cutting) of deep, velvety red suggesting a florist rose! High-centered with a high petal count, so fully double. Semi-glossy dark green foliage.
12. INGRID BERGMAN Large, double, velvety dep red flowers on long stems. Attractive deep green foliage. The bloom holds up well in summer heat.   
13. LEGENDS Massive, ruffled flowers of rich ruby red hold their brilliance from beginning to end. Large lettuce-like leaves of an unusual red-green color enhance the long stems. Moderate fruity fragrance.

1. MISTER LINCOLN  HT. Who doesn’t love this historic rose? Large, velvety textured deep red flowers open from long-pointed buds. The fragrance is heavenly damask. Tall. FR
2. OKLAHOMA  HT. Darkest red buds open to a lush, dusky deep red double flower with a high petal count. “Old” rose fragrance is strong and sweet. Known to perform well in summer heat. A great flower for cutting. FR
3. OLYMPIAD  HT. True red, prolific 4-6” diameter flowers that are excellent for cutting. Tall plant.
4. OPENING NIGHT  HT. Living up to its famous parents, Olympiad & Ingrid Bergman, this long-stemmed beauty features 4 ½”, luminous deep red flowers that last and last.

ORANGE HYBRID TEA (HT) & GRANDIFLORA (GR)

18. FRAGRANT CLOUD Rich dark red ovoid buds open into high-centered double blooms of bright coral orange. Heady, luxuriant fragrance of sweet spice and rose. DR, FR

1. SMOKIN’ HOT  HT. Turn up the heat in your garden with this fiery orange hybrid tea. 3-4” diameter flowers are a striking two-toned combo: the inside of the petals is dark orange with a purple tinge while the outside is white!
2. TOUCH OF CLASS  HT. Impeccably classic flowers in a warm shade of coral and cream. The broad petals have a hint of ruffle. Light tea rose fragrance.

YELLOW HYBRID TEA (HT) & GRANDIFLORA (GR)

22. GOLD MEDAL Clusters of deep yellow flowers are tinged with orange-red. The leaves are particularly large, lush and resistant to foliar disease. A truly fantastic tall yellow rose. DR

1. HAPPY GO LUCKY  GR. Huge pure yellow flowers, sometimes up to 6” diameter, have the charm of an English rose. The plant maintains its bushiness all season. Light fruity fragrance. DR
2. HENRY FONDA  HT. A classic and reliable yellow hybrid tea. Pointed buds unfurl into lightly fragrant, 4 ½” deep yellow flowers. Petals have good substance and hold their color well. SH

25. RADIANT PERFUME 4-5”, deep yellow blooms have a delicious lemony scent. Graceful form and long stems complete the picture. 4-5’ tall. FR
26. PATRICK HT. Very distinctive, changeable flower color depending upon temperature. Cooler weather enhances golden apricot tones while summer heat turns the blooms yellow with green undertones. Foliage is gray-green and disease resistant. DR

BI-COLOR & OTHER HYBRID TEA (HT) & GRANDIFLORA (GR)

1. DICK CLARK  GR. Classically formed flowers are a luscious blend of cherry pink and cream. The cherry pink deepens to burgundy then dark red as the flower matures.
2. DOUBLE DELIGHT  HT. Spectacular creamy ivory flowers tinged with cherry red tips. Fascinating to watch, as the color changes each day. Strong spicy fragrance. FR
3. FRAGRANT PLUM  GR. Lavender flowers blushing purple have a lovely fruity fragrance. Flower color will be lighter in heat. Overall, plant performs best in cooler temperatures. FR
4. PEACE  HT. Large, double, high-centered blooms open golden yellow edged with rose pink. The flower color changes daily as the pink flush deepens and the yellow fades. Sweet cake-like aroma. 
5. ROCK & ROLL GR. Really special with creamy buds that open to stripes and splotches of red, burgundy  and white. Petal underside is cream creating a unique contrast to the party going on above. Every bloom is different. Flowers are large, 4-6” diameter and possess a strong fruity rose fragrance. Plants are compact with good disease resistance. DR

CLIMBER

Medium to large flowers are borne singly or in clusters. Plant has long canes that can be trained vertically or horizontally on an arbor, trellis or fence.

34. CHERRY FROST Clustered, double flowers of bright cherry red. Lightly fragrant with repeat bloom throughout the season. Foliage is very dark green with excellent disease resistance. Very winter hardy. Plant is 6’ tall, so on the short side for a climber. DR   
35. FRUITY PETALS From the breeder of the Knock Out series comes this climber with most unique coloration- buds open coral ending with a bright yellow center! Petals are large. Bloom starts with a heavy spring show, then recurs throughout the growing season. Grows to 6’ tall with highly disease resistant foliage. DR
36. HIGHWIRE FLYER Stunning fully double flowers of hot pink. Fragrance is slight. Bred by William Radler who is responsible for breeding the Knock Out roses. Very strong repeat bloom throughout the growing season in addition to possessing excellent disease resistance. Compact for a climber maturing a bit over 6’. DR  
37. JOSEPH’S COAT 3 ½” flowers in a changeable, colorful blend of cherry red, golden yellow and orange. Light sweet scent. Repeat bloom. 10-12’ tall.     

1. RAMBLIN’ RED  From Will Radler, breeder of Knock Out. This winter hardy and vigorous climber has fully double, rich red flowers. Excellent repeat bloom. 6-10’ tall. DR

OWN ROOT SHRUB & FLORIBUNDA (FL)

A diverse category of plants including new hybrids and historic roses on multi-stemmed bushes.         Can be used singly as specimens or grouped in mass.

39. AT LAST Large, highly fragrant sunset-orange blooms are produced almost continuously throughout the growing season. Foliage is attractively glossy and quite disease resistant. Deadheading after each flower sequence is beneficial, but not a necessity. 30-36” tall and wide”. DR

1. BURGUNDY ICEBERG  FL. Strong rebloom of 4”diameter purple/burgundy flowers with cream reverse. Color intensifies with cooler temperatures of spring and fall. Light fragrance. 4’, tall, 4’ wide. Mild honey scent.
2. BURST OF JOY  FL. This exuberant floribunda has vivid blooms in an eye-popping combo of bright orange with a yellow reverse. Quite long-lasting, both in a vase and on the bush. The plant is rounded with glossy leaves that exhibit good disease resistance. 3-4’ tall, 3’ wide.
3. EASY ON THE EYES  What a wow rose! Flowers are lavender pink with a large magenta eye in the center, held in large clusters. Scent is a blend of citrus and spice. Very, very floriferous throughout the growing season. Strong disease resistance makes this a low maintenance winner! 4-5’ tall. DR    
4.  EASY TO PLEASE  FL. Deep fuchsia pink flowers with lighter reverse petals. 2.5-3” diameter flowers in medium-sized clusters. Moderate clove fragrance. Upright, tall for a floribunda. Glossy foliage, good disease resistance. 4-5’ tall, 3’ wide. DR   
5. JULIA CHILD  FL. A floribunda worthy of its namesake. Clusters of full, buttery gold flowers emit a delicious licorice and spice fragrance. Hardy and floriferous in all weather. 4-5’ tall, 3’ wide. FR
6. QUEEN OF ELEGANCE  FL. The gorgeous medium-pink flowers are cupped and quartered in the center like the English roses. Old rose fragrance. Dark green foliage is disease resistant. Tall growing 4-5’.  FR, DR
7. TAKE IT EASY  Full clusters of pointy buds that open to florist rose red, with a slightly lighter pink petal underside. Flowers are 3.5-4” in diameter. Medium height, great disease resistance. DR

OWN ROOT KNOCK OUT ROSES

The Knock Out family of shrub roses has grown to over 10 varieties in the 20 years since the original Knock Out rose was introduced.  Superior disease resistance, easy care and non-stop flower power are the hallmarks of this well-known brand.

OWN ROOT DAVID AUSTIN ENGLISH ROSE

Hybridized by Englishman David Austin, these shrub roses are well-known for their deeply cupped, heavily petaled flowers with rich, complex fragrances. Those with longer canes may be grown as climbing roses. We expect the following varieties in late April.
